Recipe

Call us psychic, yet we hazard a guess you’re in high need of a stomach-calming smoothie right now! Something that will help to ease that bloat and aid your digestion as you return to your normal diet. Or perhaps a healthier than ever was your normal diet…

Hello, Pineapple Calm! Let’s take a closer look at your ingredients:

PINEAPPLE: pineapple’s bromelain content makes this fruit a popular digestive remedy and anti-inflammatory aid.
CHIA SEEDS: not only are chia seeds high in fibre, they’re also known to have a prebiotic effect – helping probiotic bacteria feed and thrive.
MINT: mint soothes the digestive tract while reducing painful gas.
GINGER: another natural remedy for gas, ginger also helps to soften bloating.
LEMON: an anti-inflammatory, lemon juice gives a gentle boost to your liver (by encouraging its enzyme function), assisting all elements of detoxification.
BAOBAB: another fibrous inclusion, baobab supports the removal of waste, while upping your immunity and energy levels.
WATER: more than just a smoothie base, an adequate supply of water is essential for softening digestive waste.

And it helps that the combination tastes sweet, zesty and far from remedial!

Quantity: makes 2 large glasses/4 regular.

1. Pour the chilled filtered water into your blender jug.

2. Add all remaining ingredients, starting with the powders/seeds.

3. Blitz on high, until your desired consistency.

4. Pour into cups or a jug and place in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving (the 30 minutes will allow the chia seeds to absorb the fluids and gel – lending extra digestion calming benefit).

Tip: serve with a sprig of mint or a grating of fresh ginger for extra zest.
