Strawberry, Banana & Chia Pick-Me-Up Smoothie

Ingredients

1 tbsp Minvita Chia Superfood Seeds
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
1 cup water/crushed ice

We’re keeping things super simple with this week’s Smoothie Saturday recipe as we find that some weekends, we want something quick and easy that tastes great and gives us a pick-me-up so that we can enjoy and get the best out of our Saturday. If that sounds familiar, why not try out this delicious recipe? Our Chia Superfood Seeds are like tiny energy-boosters and will add some pep to your step!

1. On Friday night (or whichever night precedes the day you’ll be creating this smoothie on), pre-soak our Chia Superfood Seeds overnight in water – these amazing seeds hold and absorb up to ten times their own weight in water! – and will create a thicker smoothie once blended. If you prefer, you can save a few chia seeds to sprinkle over the top of your finished smoothie, also

2. Into your blend, place the chopped frozen banana, frozen strawberries, soaked chia seeds and water or crushed ice, and blitz until thick and smooth

3. Serve in the container of your choice – we like to go for a clear glass, or a pretty jar. If you chose to save some chia seeds, go ahead and sprinkle those on top!

Optional: If you’d like to get even more vitamins and nutrients out of your smoothie, add any of our Superfruit or Superfood Powders at Step 2, prior to blending. We recommend either our Baobab Superfruit Powder or Maca Superfood Powder, as both have a neutral colour and won’t interfere with the attractive pink/red colour of your smoothie! Enjoy.
