The Healthy, Dairy-Free & Sugar-Free Iced Frappucino

Ingredients

2 tbsp Minvita Cacao Superfood Nibs
1 tbsp Minvita Maca Superfood Powder (optional)
1 tbsp coffee (we used organic Fair-trade instant coffee)
1 cup non-dairy milk (we used soya milk, but any non-dairy milk will work!)
1 tbsp organic honey (or alternatively, you can use a lesser amount of agave syrup)
1 cup ice
Recipe

Are you a coffee lover – iced coffee, in this instance – but want less sugar in your diet? Or maybe you have an intolerance to dairy and are missing those creamy, sweet frappucinos? We’re here to offer you a healthier alternative that’s a whole lot better for your body, and contains many more nutrients whilst still giving you that caffeine kick! And if you’re also avoiding caffeine, simply use decaf coffee – simple! Our Cacao Superfood Nibs offer a delicious chocolatey taste whilst nourishing your body with goodness – read about the benefits of cacao nibs here – and we use only natural sweeteners. It couldn’t be easier or quicker either, so read on to find out how…

NB: We used a NutriBullet, and highly recommend this or another electronic blender/processor for this recipe.

1. Into your blender/processor, add a cup of the non-dairy milk of your choice (we used unsweetened soya milk), along with the Minvita Cacao Superfood Nibs, Minvita Maca Superfood Powder (this step is optional, the Maca adds a more creamy ‘malt’ flavour), the coffee (we used organic Fairtrade instant coffee), honey (this acts as a natural sweetener – if you take your coffee without sugar/sweetener, simply omit this step)

2. Blend all five ingredients together until you can no longer see any visible coffee grounds or cacao nibs. At this stage, it’s a good idea to taste your frappe and check if it’s right for you – if you prefer your coffee to be stronger, simply add more coffee at this stage. Similarly if you prefer your coffee to be sweeter, add more honey

3. Now we need to turn our frappuccino into an iced frappuccino, so add the ice and blend once again. You can customise this step also, so if you prefer a very smooth, blended consistency then leave your processor on for longer, and blend for less time if you prefer larger ‘chunks’ of ice

4. Carefully pour your frappucino into a cup – we like a clear glass, but you can use whatever you like. You can even pop your frappe into a portable drinks container and take it to go! Enjoy 🙂

P.S. If you can have a tiny amount of sugar, a dusting of cocoa powder on top of your iced frappuccino looks beautiful and adds to the chocolate taste!
